What does Sila mean?
Sila is the Ukrainian word for strength. Our founder, Sam Bechthold, spent two years in Ukraine on a service mission in his late teens.
What stayed with him was the people: their resilience, and their willingness to carry hard things without complaint and lift each other up when it mattered. That spirit shapes everything we are building at Sila Healthcare. Strength comes from the team, accountability is shared, and the people we serve always come first.

Founder and CEO Sam Bechthold has worked on both sides of the lease. He managed an $865 million portfolio at Welltower, then spent more than a decade as Chief Investment Officer at Eduro Healthcare as it grew to more than 40 facilities.
